Professional Rugby League Football Clubs: Sydney Roosters

We got the wonderful opportunity to see saw a professional rugby league game, particularly a Sydney Roosters game. I recently learned that the Roosters are in fact one of the most successful clubs in Australian rugby league history, having won twelve New South Wales Rugby League and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. On this particular day, they happened to win as well, defeating the Manly Sea Eagles.

*interesting fact: the club was actually founded all the way back in 1908! Then they played under the name "Eastern Suburbs" and only became known as the "Sydney Roosters" in the year 2000.

Another thing I noticed was that there were not nearly as many spectators in attendance at this rugby league game as were at the Sydney Swans AFL game, although the rugby fans seemed to be far more emotionally invested in the game.

As far as the game itself goes, to me it seemed that the players were playing a version of "hot potato" until the man with the ball decides to barrel through the opponents after gaining enough momentum, culminating in his getting smushed by the opposition.
