Nippers - Maroubra Beach

We were scheduled to have a field trip to see the Nippers at Maroubra Beach but unfortunately it got rained out. I went ahead and did some research on the Nippers because I was interested in learning more and I found the following description:

"'Nippers' is an activity-based program run to educate young children about surf safety and awareness when visiting a beach or aquatic environment. The nipper program also offers the participants the opportunity to meet a new set of friends whilst they are being challenged in activities controlled within a learning environment. The program also introduces the competitive side of surf lifesaving."

They have competitions every year, with training three times a week in preparation. The Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club then sends a team to Championships. A photo of last year's team is below
